The S&P 500 Net Zero 2050 Carbon Budget Enhanced (2022 Vintage) Index seeks to measure the performance of equity securities from the S&P 500, selected and weighted to target a defined carbon budget from each index’s launch year to 2050, compatible with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) estimate for worldwide emissions to limit global warming from pre-industrial levels to 1.5ºC and incorporating a 90% decarbonization floor.
