The S&P Kensho Smart Borders Index is designed to measure the performance of companies focused on securing borders and critical infrastructure.
A subsector index within the S&P Kensho New Economy Index Series, the S&P Kensho Smart Borders Index intends to represent companies that work closely with public and private groups on advanced border security. Governments have long used border security as a means of maintaining their respective nation's well-being and integrity. Given how the rapid pace of globalization has broken down national barriers (both physical and metaphorical) over the past few decades, security-related companies have made significant progress in technological innovation to keep pace with these changes.
