The S&P Kensho Cyber Security Index is designed to measure the performance of companies focused on protecting enterprises and devices from unauthorized access through electronic means.
A subsector index within the S&P Kensho New Economy Index Series, the S&P Kensho Cyber Security Index intends to represent companies involved in the emerging cybersecurity sector and companies focused on cybersecurity-related activities as a principal component of their business strategy. The continued growth of these incidences leave businesses' and individuals' confidential information vulnerable to theft, and the advent of the Internet of Things (IoT) has heralded a new era of interconnectedness, which only serves to underscore the continuing need for cyber security.
