Silvia Kitchener
Director, Global Equity Indices, Latin America
Silvia Kitchener is Director, Global Equity Indices, Latin America in S&P Dow Jones Indices’ (S&P DJI) Product Management group. Silvia is product manager for the Latin America equity market, covering a wide variety of indices from broad benchmark to smart beta and sustainability indices.
Silvia has worked in the index industry for the past 20 years. Her experience extends to designing, managing, and promoting a wide range of indices that include the S&P Latin America 40, S&P MILA Pacific Alliance, S&P BRIC 40, S&P Property and REIT Indices, S&P 500® Low Volatility Index, S&P Shariah Indices, and many other thematic indices. She also works closely with product managers to regularly publish research and analytical reports on a variety of investment topics, including environmental themes, global REITs, and Islamic finance.
Silvia was a member of the Index Committee from 2008 until her move to the product management team in 2012. She was responsible for managing a number of global and strategy indices, as well as monitoring index methodologies for enhancements to keep indices current and practical for investors.
Silvia graduated magna cum laude from the New York Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in communication art. She also has a master’s degree in information sciences from Columbia University.
