Cyber Risk: Learning from the Russia-Ukraine Conflict

Cyber attacks are becoming a more prevalent means of achieving foreign policy objectives, given their lower deployment costs relative to conventional military tactics and uncertain scope for retaliation. Such attacks could have wider credit implications across sectors and geographies. Cyber warfare could also have implication for insurance policies, which could lead to higher than expected losses for insurers and is testing the limits of cyber insurance coverage for insured parties.

You are invited to join senior members of the S&P Global Ratings global Cyber team to discuss the current risks that have emerged from the Russia-Ukraine conflict through the lens of cybersecurity.

Topics of discussion include:

  • Implications of hybrid warfare in the Russia-Ukraine conflict and lessons learned from the ‘NotPetya’ cyberattack in 2017. (See our recently published commentary, Cyber Threat Brief: How Worried Should We Be About Cyber Attacks On Ukraine?)*
  • How have cyberattacks featured in the Russia-Ukraine conflict and what threats are we monitoring?
  • What cyber warfare, war exclusions, and the risk of silent cyber means for the cyber insurance market
