Full BioKarl Nietvelt is Chief Analytical Officer for Global Infrastructure Ratings, overseeing analytical consistency and research across Infrastructure, Utilities and Project finance ratings. He also leads S&P Global Ratings’ credit research on the Energy Transition. Recently Karl was responsible for the roll-out of ESG Credit Indicators across Corporates and Infrastructure ratings.
Over his 20 years at S&P Global Ratings, Karl was Analytical Manager for the EMEA Commodities and subsequently, the EMEA Utilities teams. Prior to that he was sector expert for the oil & gas and chemical sectors. Karl started his career at S&P in the field of project finance and infrastructure.
Before joining S&P Global Ratings, Karl worked in London banking covering Structured Trade and Commodity Finance. He is based in Paris and has a Masters-in-Finance from ESSEC Business School and an Electro-Mechanical Engineering degree from Leuven University (Belgium).
