UK gas plant operator Calon Energy enters administration – BBC News

Independent power producer Calon Energy Ltd. has gone into administration, BBC News reported June 24.

Calon Energy, which is owned by Macquarie Group Ltd., has three combined-cycle gas turbine plants in South Wales and England, and was planning to build another facility at the former Willington power station in Derbyshire.

According to the report, the operating companies running the Severn, Baglan Bay and Sutton Bridge power stations were excluded from the insolvency process.

Administrators KPMG told BBC that they will be working with directors and senior management to develop a business plan for the power stations before proceeding to a sales process.
