Starbucks to add Impossible Foods, Beyond Meat products to Asian menus

Starbucks Corp. on Sep. 7 said it will add two plant-based beverages and nine plant-based food products by Impossible Foods Inc. and Beyond Meat Inc. to its menus in Asian markets including Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.

Beginning in September, the coffee shop chain will launch the plant-based food options in five new markets. The two plant-based drinks, oat milk cocoa macchiato and almond milk hazelnut latte, will be available in eight markets.

Seattle-based Starbucks will launch Impossible Foods' maize impossible sandwich and spiced impossible puff in Hong Kong, and the Impossible Wrap in Singapore.

New Zealand Starbucks stores will expand their menu to include a plant-based mince & cheese pie, while Taiwan's menu will include Beyond Meat's bolognese penne, sausage sandwich and beyond meatball sandwich.

Thailand will also include the Beyond Meat sandwich in its menu.

In June, Starbucks added an Impossible Foods sandwich to its U.S. breakfast menu this summer.

In April, Starbucks announced a partnership with plant-based food companies Beyond Meat, Oatly AB and OmniPork to expand its plant-based food and beverage selection in China.

In February, Starbucks also partnered with Beyond Meat to offer a plant-based breakfast sandwich across its stores in Canada.
