Fujitsu Ltd. announced changes to its business segments while setting a medium-term target of ¥3.5 trillion in revenue and a 10% operating profit margin in fiscal 2022.
For the "others/eliminations/corporate" segment, the company moved its common expenses to the "technology solutions (common)" subsegment and transferred the elimination of inter-segment sales to a new segment, "inter-segment elimination."
The company will now be divided into three segments, "technology solutions," "ubiquitous solutions" and "device solutions," as well as the "inter-segment elimination."
Fujitsu established a subsegment called "international regions excluding Japan," which consists of services and system platforms, previously under the technology solutions segment. In addition, the services subsegment has been renamed "solutions/services."
Fujitsu recently said it would launch a new company, Fujitsu Japan Ltd., on Oct. 1 in a bid to further expand its operations in the Japanese services industry.
The company's first-quarter results for fiscal 2020 are due July 30.
As of July 28, US$1 was equivalent to ¥105.08.
