Ameren Missouri announced Jan. 13 that Callaway nuclear facility is currently not operating after experiencing an issue related to its generator.
The company, known legally as Union Electric Co., said it is now investigating the cause of the non-nuclear operating issue. The incident occurred after the 1,236-MW facility returned to full power from a refueling and maintenance outage.
Ameren Missouri, a subsidiary of Ameren Corp., added that its generation resources are enough to meet power demand while Callaway is not operational.
Ameren does not expect the matter to have a significant impact on the company's financial results, according to a company statement.
