Beyond ESG Economic Impact of Inequality on Black Women

Date:
Wednesday, June 23, 2021
Location:
On-Demand
Duration:
1 Hour

Our latest report, How the Advancement of Black Woman Will Build a Better Economy For All shows that black women in America face several hurdles to success, particularly regarding educational and professional opportunities, with the white-Black wage gap for female professionals at $12,700 in 2019. These inequities also mean lost productivity and product growth. If educational attainment among Black women had kept pace with that of white women from 1960-2019, the U.S. would have generated an additional $107 billion in economic activity.

In the latest episode of our 'Beyond ESG' series, Dr. Beth Ann Bovino, U.S. Chief Economist, S&P Global is joined by several executives to discuss:

  • Underlying gaps and inequities in the marketplace and how these can be closed
  • How these women have achieved success in the corporate workplace
  • What lessons can be learned from their personal experience

S&P Global Sustainable1's 'Beyond ESG' webinar series focuses on providing corporate and investors with the tools and insights they need when building and refining their ESG playbooks. Featuring interviews and discussions with experts, decision-makers, and visionaries in the ESG community, these webinars will go beyond ratings and scores to help see the possibilities in building a sustainable future while meeting the expectations of an evolving market.
