Platts launches daily global solar module price assessments July 1

Following industry feedback, Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights, has launched daily global solar module price assessments, effective July 1.

Platts has observed strong interest in transparent solar module pricing, following the exponential growth in the manufacture, trade and installation of solar modules globally and is launching solar module price assessments, reflecting the price of bifacial solar modules procured for Commercial and Industrial (C&I) and utility scale renewable energy projects.

The price assessments reflect modules with 570-720 W of output, Topcon specification and wafer sizes of 182-210 mm for volumes of 5 MW up to 50 MW, and 50 MW up to 100 MW.

The prices reflect modules for delivery, 28-70 days, forward for a European delivery, 28-60 days, forward for a US delivery and 10-30 days forward for loading in China.

The prices are published as an outright price in cents per watt on a DDP Europe, DDP US and FOB China basis.

The basis location for Europe is Rotterdam, China is Shanghai and the US is the East Coast.

Other locations are taken into account.

The assessments consider market information reported to Platts and published throughout the day, including firm bids and offers, trades and indicative values, as well as any other data deemed relevant to the assessment process.

Platts may normalize information with differing specifications heard in the market to meet the assessment specifications.

Normalization brings market information in line with the Platts assessed specifications.

The assessments reflect a 4:30 pm London time market close and follow the Platts European publishing schedule.
