Our high-yield bond indices are designed to track the performance of securities rated below investment grade. The high-yield credit rating is assigned by a Nationally Recognized Statistical Rating Organization (NRSRO) to non-investment grade, speculative grade or "junk" bonds, which provide a higher yield due to the higher risk of default.
