NEW YORK, MARCH 27, 2019: S&P Dow Jones Indices (“S&P DJI”), the world’s leading index provider, today announced that Matarin Capital Management, a New York-based investment firm, has selected S&P DJI as a calculation agent for two newly-launched custom indices, the Matarin Global Long-Term Index and the Matarin International (ex-North America) Long-Term Index.
“At Matarin, we use S&P indices broadly as benchmarks in managing investments. We are pleased to have customized the Global Long-Term Index and its International (ex-North America) counterpart with S&P Dow Jones Indices. It was also a natural extension for us to use an S&P Broad Market Index as the starting investable universe from which the Matarin Long-Term Indices select stocks which we expect to offer a Patience Premium to long-term investors, based upon attributes such as fundamentally good businesses, shareholder-friendly leadership, inexpensive valuations, and positive progress towards sustainability,” said Nili Gilbert, Co-Founder and Portfolio Manager at Matarin Capital.
“We are pleased to be chosen as Matarin Capital’s calculation agent for these indices with the S&P Global Broad Market Index serving as the universe from which Matarin’s customization has been applied. Our philosophy as an independent index provider is to offer choice to the market. We offer a suite of indices for customization and tailored services that represent an array of market segments or investment strategies,” said Michael Mell, Senior Director, Custom Indices at S&P Dow Jones Indices.
S&P Dow Jones Custom Indices provides independently calculated solutions that clients need to meet specific investment criteria.
