* Microsoft Corp. executives saw their fiscal 2021 pay packages increase year over year, mainly due to stock awards, according to an SEC filing.
CEO and Chairman Satya Nadella's total compensation jumped to about $49.9 million from $44.3 million in the prior year. Nadella's compensation included $2.5 million in salary, $33.0 million worth of stock awards and $14.2 million in nonequity incentive plan compensation. By comparison, the CEO was paid $30.7 million in stock awards and $11.0 million in nonequity incentive plan compensation in fiscal 2020.
CFO and Executive Vice President Amy Hood pulled in $23.5 million in fiscal 2021, up from $19.6 million in the comparable period. Hood's pay package included $995,833 in salary, $17.9 million in stock awards and $4.5 million in nonequity incentive plan compensation. President and Chief Legal Officer Bradford Smith's total pay check increased to $20.5 million, including $943,333 in salary, $15.1 million in stock awards and $4.3 million in nonequity incentive plan compensation. Smith received about $16.7 million in fiscal 2020.
Christopher Young, executive vice president of business development, strategy and ventures, received $28.5 million in his first year with Microsoft, including a $3.5 million bonus and $22.6 million worth of stock awards.
* Chris Winfrey, who was recently promoted to Charter Communications Inc.'s COO, will be paid an annual base salary of at least $1.3 million, with a target cash bonus of 160% of his annual base salary. Jessica Fischer, who replaced Winfrey as CFO of Charter, will receive an annual base salary of $700,000 and a target bonus of 150% of the base salary.

* GitLab Inc. founder, CEO and Chairman Sytse Sijbrandij did not take any annual salary or option awards for fiscal 2021 and his pay package comprised $124,400 under the non-equity incentive plan compensation, according to a registration statement filed with the SEC in connection to the company's IPO. CFO Brian Robins, who joined the company in October 2020, earned $4.0 million in fiscal 2021, including $3.8 million in option awards.
* AvidXchange Holdings Inc. paid CEO Michael Praeger $2.4 million in annual compensation for the year ended Dec. 31, 2020, including $404,077 in salary. Praeger's option awards and stock awards amounted to $899,990 and $765,003, respectively. CFO Joel Wilhite earned roughly $1.5 million.
* Agilysys Inc. President and CEO Ramesh Srinivasan saw his annual compensation decrease 95.3% year over year to $348,447 in the fiscal year 2021. The CEO did not receive any option awards in fiscal 2021, compared to $6.3 million in the prior year. Srinivasan, who took home $600,000 in salary in fiscal 2020, earned $163,846 during the recent year and his annual stock awards were also down to $180,000 compared to $450,000 in the earlier period.
* ADTRAN Inc. CEO Thomas Stanton's 2020 pay package increased 47.7% year over year to $2.9 million. Stanton's annual salary was $676,179 and he received $1.8 million in stock awards. CFO Michael Foliano was paid $1.0 million in 2020 compensation, including $362,923 in salary and stock awards worth $550,253.
* Damien Schmitz, who was appointed interim CFO of Groupon Inc. following the resignation of Melissa Thomas, will receive a monthly stipend of $18,750 for each month he fills the interim role in addition to a restricted stock unit award with a value equal to $300,000. He will also receive a one-time cash bonus of $162,500, subject to continued employment with the company until Aug. 25, 2022.
