SunPower's Maxeon partners with Enphase to market solar modules

SunPower Corp. and Enphase Energy Inc. on July 15 announced a strategic partnership to produce and market a new AC module featuring a factory-integrated microinverter from Enphase.

The AC module will be commercialized beginning in the fourth quarter by Maxeon Solar Technologies Pte. Ltd., a unit SunPower plans to spin off to cater to international residential customers. The spinoff is expected to be complete in the third quarter.

SunPower said in a news release that the new AC modules will give its global installers improved capital management, simpler logistics and operations, accelerated design and more cost-effective installation.
