Iron Mountain Inc. obtained the BREEAM design certification for its newly developed data center in Phoenix.
The AZP-2 facility's design was certified under BREEAM's New Construction standard, a green building certification program created by profit-for-purpose organization BRE for newly-developed properties.
Building materials were carefully selected and water consumption was reduced by more than 50% to help improve the performance of the facility, according to the specialty real estate investment trust.
The REIT said it is on track to have all of its newly constructed multi-tenant data centers BREEAM-certified by 2025.
