Goldman Sachs Group Inc. promoted David Gribble, head of its Australian special situations arm, to head of credit for its GS Merchant Banking division in Asia, The Australian Financial Review's Street Talk reported Sept. 8.

In addition to his new role, Gribble will retain some of the responsibilities of his former role, according to the publication.

Aside from credit, GS Merchant Banking will also target opportunities in equity and real estate.
