Citigroup keeps lead in equity REIT common stock offering underwriters in H1

Citigroup Global Markets Inc. continued its run as the lead underwriter of equity real estate investment trusts' common equity offerings through the first half of the year, with six offerings totaling about $943.9 million in deal credit.

Morgan Stanley, which was No. 2 among underwriters in the first quarter, continued to hold second place with six offerings for an aggregate of nearly $926.6 million in deal credit. BofA Securities Inc. held the third spot with nearly $922.6 million in deal credit across eight offerings.

Debt offerings

J.P. Morgan Securities LLC remained the top underwriter of equity REITs' debt offerings through the first half, with 15 offerings totaling almost $1.05 billion in deal credit.

BofA Securities sustained its second place ranking, with roughly $945.9 million in deal credit, while Citigroup Global Markets upheld its third position with $917.4 million.

Preferred equity offerings

BofA Securities, Morgan Stanley, UBS Investment Bank and Wells Fargo Securities LLC tied in the preferred equity offering underwriters' ranking in the first half, each with $62.5 million in deal credit.

IPOs by equity REITs in the first half show Canaccord Genuity Group Inc. participated in Toronto-based Nova Net Lease REIT's IPO, and B. Riley Securities Inc. was involved in the IPO of Modiv Inc.
