Brookfield Renewable signs hydro power contract with JPMorgan Chase

Brookfield Renewable Partners LP signed a five-year contract to power JPMorgan Chase & Co.'s more than 500 real state operations in New York with renewable energy.

Under the agreement, 90% of the bank's operations in New York State will receive electricity from Brookfield Renewable's hydroelectric power plants, according to an Oct. 27 company news release.

The contract will help the bank meet its target of getting 100% of its global power demand from renewable sources starting in 2020.

Brookfield Renewable's supply of hydropower in New York is part of an over 900-MW portfolio in the state that also includes wind and solar facilities.
