Ansell to acquire 50% of Malaysian medical gloves manufacturer Careplus

Ansell Ltd. said it plans to acquire 50% of its supplier Careplus (M) Sdn Bhd for 37 million Malaysian ringgits.

Ansell is buying half of the ownership in the Malaysian medical gloves manufacturer from Careplus Group Berhad.

Ansell expects the acquisition — subject to Careplus Group's shareholder approval — to complete in March.

The Australian company expects the acquisition to have no effect on its earnings per shares this year, followed by a slight increase in EPS next year.

As of Feb. 5, US$1 was equivalent to 4.12 Malaysian ringgits.
