Maritime Quality Assurance
Maritime has just renewed its quality standards certification for another year. The Company is certified to ISO 9001: 2008.
ISO certification was first issued by DNV in London in 1999 and has been maintained ever since to ensure that we adhere to an accepted external standard. The current certification is issued by BSI and we have just undergone our latest annual external audit (May 2013) with the certification renewed as part of the periodical survey cycle.
The objective of the assessment was to conduct a surveillance assessment and look for positive evidence to ensure the requirements of the management standard are effectively addressed by the organization's management system. Also, the system is demonstrates the ability to support the achievement of statutory, regulatory and contractual requirements and the organization's specified objectives.
BSI also looked at the applicability of the forward strategic plan and to identify potential areas for improvement of the management system.
No new non conformities were identified during the assessment. Enhanced detail relating to the overall assessment findings showed that that 'Quality Management System (QMS) is well organized and well documented. The QMS documentation is extensive. QMS processes have been clearly identified and mapped with associated procedures and work instructions'.
Internal audits are held twice annually and external audits are held once annually.
