Highlights
In terms of what executives are saying on corporate conference calls, an overall Net Positivity score of 1.22% is slightly lower than last quarter (1.23%), but in line with the trailing one-year average. The trailing one year average of 1.22% compares positively to the 1.08% which was the trailing one-year average at the end of 2023.
Overall, in Q4 2024, the S&P 500 had a Numeric Transparency score of 2.22%, higher than the previous quarter (2.08%) but lower than the trailing one-year average (2.27%). Utilities was the most numerically transparent sector in the quarter with a score of 2.61% which was also higher than the previous quarter (2.29%) but slightly lower than the trailing one-year average (2.63%).
In Q4 2024, the S&P 500 constituents had a Language Complexity score of 12.35, slightly up from Q3’s score of 12.29, showing the language in this quarter’s earnings call transcripts was slightly more complex which may be considered as less favorable.
