George Laguros

George Laguros is a Technical Research Principal with the Upstream Technical Research team at S&P Global Commodity Insights.

George is responsible for technical research covering the upstream oil and gas industry in the US Deepwater Gulf of Mexico, and the US Atlantic and Pacific Margins. He also leads the Frontier North America team, which includes Alaska and parts of Canada (Yukon Territory, Northwest Territories, Nunavut Territory, and the Provinces of eastern Canada).

Prior to joining the company in 2019, George was a geophysicist with Marathon Oil Company for 31 years, where he worked on a variety of exploration and development projects in East Africa, the North Sea, Western Siberia, the US Midcontinent and the Gulf of Mexico.

George holds a Bachelor of Science in Geophysics from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Arts in Geological Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin.
