S&P Global Commodity Insights
Research Analyst, Fuels, Chemicals, and Resource Solutions (FCRS)
Izzaty Kamal is a research analyst for Commodities at Sea at S&P Global Commodity Insights
Izzaty is a member of the Shipping Research and Analytics team for Commodities at Sea (CAS) - a data platform designed to track seaborne flows of globally traded liquid and dry bulk commodities in near real-time. She focuses on analyzing the trade flows dataset - down to the port and grade details - to gauge market movements around the liquid bulk commodities, specifically on crude oil and refined products. She produces weekly and monthly reports, covering major exporting and importing regions, using CAS data.
She also utilizes the trends from other key market indicators such as prices and spread, demands and refinery utilization, seasonal and geopolitical variables, inventory levels, freight rates and arbitrage incentives - to provide a concise and timely outlook for the users. Armed with a programming-oriented master's degree, she regularly leverages Pythonic tools to optimize the workflows.
She joined S&P Global in 2021 after graduating with a master's degree in Applied Computational Science and Engineering from Imperial College London. Izzaty also holds a degree in Geophysics from the same university.
