The City of Abilene, through the Abilene Convention Center Hotel Development Corp. (ACCHDC), is seeking to finance, build, and operate a full-service, upscale 200-room hotel with conference center facilities in Abilene, Texas, 180 miles west of Dallas. The project consists of the hotel and the city facilities, which represent the conference center, meeting space, and parking infrastructure. It will be located in Abilene's downtown, adjacent to the existing Abilene City Convention Center, which has been in operations since 1970. There is no full-service hotel in the downtown area.
