Williams names independent board director

Williams Cos. Inc. named Stacey Doré as an independent board director, effective Jan. 6, according to a same-day news release.

Doré, current CEO of electric utility Sharyland Utilities LLC, will serve on the governance and sustainability committee and the audit committee of Williams' board of directors. Doré's appointment brings the number of Williams' board to 13 members, of whom 12 are independent directors.

Tulsa, Okla.-based Williams provides natural gas and NGL gathering, processing, interstate transportation and storage services.
