Thoma Bravo to slash Sophos workforce amid coronavirus crisis

Thoma Bravo LLC is to reduce Sophos Group PLC's total workforce by up to about 16% to help the U.K. cybersecurity company weather the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

The private equity firm plans to close some of Sophos' offices outside Britain in line with the job cuts. Sophos will notify and provide assistance to affected employees.

In addition, Sophos allowed office-based staff to work remotely and reduced spending on marketing initiatives.

Thoma Bravo LLC completed the acquisition of Sophos in March for about $3.9 billion.
