SVB Leerink LLC is hoping to grow its private equity and leveraged finance businesses with the addition of Robert Minear to its healthcare services and technology franchise team, the company said in a news release.

As a senior managing director, Minear will lead the firm's financial sponsor origination efforts and aim to expand the company's leveraged finance business. SVB Leerink also said it will pursue other hires to build a team dedicated to support Minear's private equity origination business.

Minear will be based in SVB Leerink's New York office and will report to Barry Blake, global co-head of investment banking. "Rob's extensive network of financial sponsor relationships across markets will be critical to the success of our growing private equity and leveraged finance businesses," Blake said in the news release.

Minear joins SVB Leerink from Guggenheim Securities LLC, where he worked as a senior managing director with a focus on advising companies in the healthcare services sector. Before Guggenheim, Minear was a managing director and head of healthcare services M&A with Jefferies LLC.

SVB Leerink is an investment bank with a focus on the healthcare and life science industries.
