Photo-sharing platform Shutterstock Inc. acquired Splash News, an entertainment news network for newsroom and media companies, for an undisclosed amount.
Following the acquisition, Splash News' archive of more than 27 million images and network of over 4,000 contributing photographers will become part of Shutterstock Editorial's expanded Newsroom offering for exclusive content, a May 31 statement said. The archive will be combined with The Vault, Shutterstock's archive of more than 60 million photos and videos.
Splash News' clients include E! (US)'s news program "E! News," celebrity news platform TMZ, publications such as People and Daily Mail (UK), Dow Jones, news publisher Reach PLC, and News Corp. unit News UK.
