Oppenheimer Holdings, unit name president

Robert Lowenthal was appointed president of Oppenheimer Holdings Inc. and its broker/dealer unit, Oppenheimer & Co. Inc., effective immediately.

Lowenthal will also continue as Oppenheimer's head of investment banking.

The move is part of a long-term succession plan approved by the Oppenheimer board.
