U.K. satellite company OneWeb Ltd. struck a deal with Vocus Group Ltd. to bring its high-speed, low-latency communications services to Australia, according to a Dec. 20 release.
Under the agreement, Vocus, OneWeb's first distribution partner in Oceania, can use the British company's low-latency LEO satellite services to support its existing GEO satellite connectivity for its communication services.
The companies said the first commercial customers are scheduled for the middle of 2022.
The deal covers the expansion of services for industries including mining, power and construction.
