Michigan-based Flagstar Bank names EVP/head of operations

Karen Buck joined Troy, Mich.-based Flagstar Bank FSB as executive vice president and head of operations.

Buck was most recently executive vice president of commercial, retail and payment operations at TD Bank in New Jersey, where she led a team of more than 2,200 employees across the bank's commercial and retail segments.

Brad Ringwald joined Worthington, Ohio-based CFBank NA as chief commercial banking officer.

Ringwald recently was president of commercial banking for Cincinnati-based First Financial Bank.

Greg Hansch accepted the role of senior vice president and retail banking manager at Tacoma, Wash.-based Commencement Bank.

Hansch was previously vice president and commercial loan officer of the bank.

The transition is a result of the retirement of founding member and Executive Vice President Mary Ann Harshman.

Bank of New York Mellon Corp. hired Neal Chansky as global head of consultant relations for its asset-servicing business, Pensions & Investments reported Jan. 5, citing a spokeswoman.

Chansky was previously managing director of investment operations at Olmstead Associates Inc.

California Bank & Trust, a division of Zions Bancorp. NA, named Eric Ellingsen CEO, effective Jan. 4. He will continue his role as president with new leadership responsibilities as CEO.

Ellingsen previously served as president and COO.

Former CEO David Blackford will transition to the role of executive chairman.

Connecticut-based Torrington Savings Bank named Bryan Cassidy chief information officer and senior vice president.

Cassidy's career includes serving as senior vice president and director of information technology audit, data analytics and professional services at Webster Bank NA.

Mark Saunders joined HSBC Bank Canada's board as an independent director, effective from Jan. 4.

Saunders is executive vice president of corporate services at Sun Life Financial Inc. and will retire on April 30.

Financial services

BNY Mellon Wealth Management named Charmaine Tang senior client strategist.

Tang's career includes serving as an executive director with J.P. Morgan Private Bank.

Morgan Stanley appointed Mandell Crawley to serve as chief human resources officer, effective Feb. 1, AdvisorHub reported Jan. 5, citing a memo from CEO James Gorman.

Crawley is currently the company's head of private wealth management.

Jeff Brodsky, Morgan Stanley's current chief human resources officer, will take on the role of a vice chairman advising on "executive talent, succession, and diversity and inclusion," AdvisorHub reported, citing the memo.

A separate memo from Vince Lumia, head of field management, disclosed that Elizabeth Dennis will succeed Crawley as head of private wealth management, according to the report. Dennis will also remain head of strategic client management.

Fiduciary Trust International, a global wealth manager and wholly owned subsidiary of Franklin Templeton, appointed Miles Powell to serve as regional managing director and senior relationship manager based in Washington, D.C.

Powell will oversee the Fiduciary Trust International's office in Arlington, Va.

Powell was previously with Wells Fargo Private Bank in McLean, Va., where he served as managing director and senior director of investment and fiduciary services.
