McGrath, Langley named co-heads of Global Finance & Risk at Barclays

Barclays today named John Langley and Joseph McGrath as co-heads of the Global Finance and Risk Solutions (GF&RS) business within the investment-banking division. They report to the head of global investment banking Hugh “Skip” McGee and succeed Larry Wieseneck, who was appointed chief strategy officer, according to a company statement.

Langley had been head of global-risk solutions since early 2011, and was previously co-head of the risk-solutions business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Langley joined Barclays in 2006 from Merrill Lynch.

McGrath joined Barclays in 2006 to relaunch their leveraged finance department. He had been head of global leveraged finance since 2010. Previously, McGrath worked in leveraged finance at Goldman Sachs from February 1998, and at Salomon Brothers and Smith Barney from 1995. – Staff reports
