This article is part of a global monthly series on film revenue in different regions.

Latin America's box office revenue fell 82.2% year over year in the first 11 months of 2020 to $300 million as the region experienced a slow recovery from the COVID-19 outbreak, according to data from OpusData compiled by S&P Global Market Intelligence. This is compared to a year-over-year fall of 82.1% in the year through October 2020.

The region released 20 new movies in November 2020, up from 19 new films in October 2020, and down from 76 releases in November 2019.

Mexico led the region in terms of revenue with $165.6 million, an 81.5% drop from the prior-year period. The country also saw the highest number of new releases among the tracked markets.

January 2020 releases such as The Walt Disney Co.'s "Frozen II" were among top contributors to the region's box office.
