U.K.-based company JD Sports Fashion PLC bought menswear retailer Wellgosh, Drapers reported Jan. 5.

Financial terms of the transaction reportedly were not disclosed.

JD Sports did not immediately respond to S&P Global Market Intelligence's request for comment.

The development follows British retail group Frasers Group PLC's acquisition of clothing vendor Psyche. Drapers noted that Psyche owner Steve Cochrane also held talks with JD Sports regarding a potential takeover.

Most recently, JD Sports purchased Shoe Palace Inc. for $325 million in cash.
