Insurance moves: Liberty Mutual chief information officer, secretary to retire

Combined Insurance Co. of America announced Joel Schwartz's appointment as president of Combined Canada.

Schwartz joins the Chubb Ltd. company after serving as president of CNO Financial Group Inc.'s Colonial Penn Life Insurance Co.

Property and casualty

Liberty Mutual Insurance Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer James McGlennon and Executive Vice President, Corporate Secretary and Chief of Staff to the CEO Mark Touhey will retire at the end of 2022.

Monica Caldas, currently deputy chief information officer, will succeed McGlennon as executive vice president and chief information officer. Damon Hart will become secretary on top of his current roles as executive vice president and chief legal officer.

Caldas and Hart will take on their new roles in January 2023.

Zurich North America, part of Zurich Insurance Group AG, appointed Gerald Chiddick regional executive for its Midwest region, effective June 16.

Chiddick rejoined Zurich in 2021 as U.S. middle market head of real estate, retail and hospitality.

Marsh LLC named Andrew Fiscella and John Umbach special purpose acquisition company co-leaders within Marsh Specialty's U.S. financial and professional liability, or FINPRO, practice.

Fiscella and Umbach previously served as senior vice presidents within the FINPRO practice.
