High yield bond issuance in Europe has totaled €47.8 billion through Aug. 2 of this year, more than double the amount seen during the same period in 2012. Already the 2013 figure is the highest full-year total since S&P Capital IQ/LCD began tracking this data.

While on the rise, high yield bond issuance in Europe remains a relatively small component of global high yield issuance. U.S. volume through the first seven months of the year totals some $194 billion, according to LCD.
