Deutsche Telekom executive to join TeamViewer as new CFO

German remote connectivity software company TeamViewer AG appointed Michael Wilkens CFO and management board member, effective Sept. 1.

Wilkens will oversee TeamViewer's accounting, controlling, treasury, investor relations, corporate governance, environmental, social and governance, IT security and operations, an April 22 news release said. He is replacing Stefan Gaiser, whose contract will expire in August.

Currently, Wilkens is senior vice president group controlling of Deutsche Telekom AG after holding various responsibilities at the telco for over 20 years. He also sits on the board of Deutsche Telekom's U.S. unit, T-Mobile US Inc., as a director and compensation committee member, according to an SEC filing.

In relation to his upcoming move to TeamViewer, Wilkens will not stand for reelection to T-Mobile's board at the 2022 annual stockholders' meeting. His departure will take effect immediately after the meeting, during which the T-Mobile board's size will be reduced to 13 directors.
