Deal Wrap: CVC buys Stock Spirits; 777 targets British Basketball League stake

* CVC Capital Partners Ltd. finalized the purchase of European alcoholic beverage company Stock Spirits Group PLC. The private equity firm made the acquisition through CVC Capital Partners Fund VIII.

* 777 Partners is in discussions to buy a 45% controlling stake in the British Basketball League for £7 million, Bloomberg News reported, citing a person familiar with the discussions.

* Terra Firma Capital Partners Ltd. made a £300 million takeover offer for U.K.-based homebuilder Hopkins Homes Ltd., Sky News reported, citing City of London sources. The London-based buyout firm reportedly plans to merge Hopkins with Tilia Homes, which it acquired from Kier Group PLC earlier in 2021.

* Funds managed by Searchlight Capital Partners LP agreed to invest in Celestyal Cruises Ltd. and its parent Louis PLC through the new holding company Celestyal Holdings. Celestyal Cruises will continue to be led by its existing management team and will still operate its fleet of two Greek Island and Eastern Mediterranean cruise ships out of its Piraeus, Greece, offices. The Louis Group will remain a shareholder in the new holding company. Houlihan Lokey London, Hill Dickinson London, Chryses Demetriades Cyprus and PricewaterhouseCoopers Cyprus advised Louis, while Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, Alvares & Marsal, KPMG, Lockton and Renaissance Shipbroking advised Searchlight.

* European midmarket infrastructure investor Asterion Industrial Partners is providing capital to fiber service provider MS3 Networks Ltd. as the latter works to develop a full fiber network that will serve more than 500,000 homes and businesses in the north of England. TradeRisks and DLA Piper advised MS3, while Gibson Dunn & Crutcher and Alvarez and Marsal advised Asterion.
