Dailymotion removes streaming quality limits

Dailymotion SA restored its video quality worldwide following the recent lifting of the coronavirus lockdown in France.

The streaming service imposed bandwidth limits in March to prevent network saturation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Starting May 20, users can now watch videos in 4K/Ultra HD, full HD and HD resolution.

Guillaume Clément, COO at Dailymotion, said the platform will work to lift the definition limitation country by country as network conditions continue to improve.

Netflix Inc. is also working to lift streaming limitations in Europe following Apple Inc.'s move to restore 4K streaming on Apple TV+.

Media group Vivendi SA owns Dailymotion.
