Bricks and mortar: Tennessee-based CapStar Bank branches out to North Carolina

Mid-Atlantic

Rutherford, N.J.-based Blue Foundry Bank intends to close its branch office at 66 N. Beverwyck Road, Parsippany, N.J., on or around Dec. 30, according to the State of New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance.

Fort Lee, N.J.-based New Millennium Bank plans to close its branch office at 1620 Lemoine Ave., Fort Lee, N.J., on Sept. 30, according to the State of New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance.

Souderton, Pa.-based Univest Bank and Trust Co. on July 1 applied for two de novo branches, one at 51 Dutilh Road, Cranberry Township, Pa. and another at 10801 Tony Drive, Lutherville-Timonium, Md., according to the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities.

Chambersburg, Pa.-based Farmers and Merchants Trust Co. of Chambersburg opened a de novo branch at 83 W. Washington St., Hagerstown, Md., according to the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities.

Astoria, N.Y.-based Alma Bank surrendered for cancellation the authorization granted by the New York State Department of Financial Services to open and occupy a branch office at 213-11 Northern Blvd., Bayside, N.Y.

New York-based Berkshire Bank intends to close its branch office at 214 Harriman Drive, Goshen, N.Y., according to the New York State Department of Financial Services.

Southeast

Nashville, Tenn.-based CapStar Bank is branching out into Asheville, N.C., and is seeking its first office in the state, according to a news release. CapStar Bank tapped Asheville native banker Martin Nesbitt as Asheville market president and other local business leaders to develop a local advisory board, the release said.

Charlotte, N.C.-based Bank of America Corp. will close its branch at 750 S. Orlando Ave. in Winter Park, Fla., on May 23, 2023, Orlando Business Journal reported, citing a filing with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Operations at the leased site will be merged into the College Park branch at 2905 Edgewater Drive, Orlando, Fla., according to the report, citing bank spokesperson Matthew Daily.

Bank of America is also permanently vacating its branch at 4921 Lakeside Ave., Richmond, Va., by September, local news outlet Richmond BizSense reported July 11, citing a bank spokesperson. The Lakeside branch has been closed since the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020, according to the report.

Alexandria, Va.-based Burke & Herbert Bank & Trust Co. acquired 5680 King Centre Drive in Alexandria, Va., to consolidate most of its local workforce now dispersed across various locations in the area.

Atlanta-based LGE Community CU received the approval of the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance to establish a branch office at 6615 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs, Ga.

Atlanta-based Pinnacle CU received the approval of the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance to move its main office in Atlanta to 1342 Glenwood Ave. SE, from 536 North Ave. NE.

Blakely, Ga.-based OneSouth Bank seeks to move its main office location to 4070 Forsyth Road, Macon, Ga., from 12347 Columbia St., Blakely, Ga., according to the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance.

Southwest

Jenks, Okla.-based Gateway First Bank intends to establish a nondeposit branch office at 620 Stokes Road, Suite D, Medford, N.J., according to the State of New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance.

West

San Francisco-based Wells Fargo & Co. will close seven more branches, including one in the Main Line at 125 W. Lancaster Ave. in Ardmore, Pa., and another at 236 Bellevue Ave., Hammonton, N.J., Philadelphia Business Journal reported, citing July 5 filings with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
