Barclays PLC appointed Taalib Shaah group chief risk officer, subject to regulatory approval.
Shaah is currently chief risk officer at Barclays International, which encompasses the group's corporate and investment bank and international cards and payments business. He will succeed C.S. Venkatakrishnan, who was promoted to the position of global head of markets, Bloomberg News reported, citing an internal memo.
Stephen Dainton, who is the global head of markets, was named the deputy head of markets, according to the Sept. 30 report.
Venkatakrishnan was also named co-president of Barclays Bank PLC, along with Paul Compton, who will also take up the role of global head of banking, Bloomberg said. Compton will take over the position from Joe McGrath, who was named chairman of investment banking, according to the newswire.
The appointments will take effect Oct. 5.
