Supporting decision-making at GPs and LPs by centralizing private asset data and enabling look-through to underlying assets
As portfolios become more complex, it is critical for private asset firms to have a consolidated view of their holdings across entities to support their decision-making. They also need to maintain a current snapshot of their portfolio data at the entity and fund level, along with an auditable history of any changes to the data. Many firms, including both limited and general partners, struggle to manage their data in this way due to their reliance on manual processes and multiple systems and data sources. Our Enterprise Data Management (EDM) platform supports private asset firms by centralizing disparate data from different systems and sources across the enterprise. EDM links, matches, cleanses and applies rules and hierarchies to the data, creating a central master record of private asset data. The consolidated private asset data can be viewed side-by-side with public asset data for a complete view of a firm’s holdings across private and public markets. Both private and public data can be segmented to understand the firm’s exposure based on different parameters, such as industry or geography. Additionally, the platform can link disparate issuer/party data to create a common view of these entities, providing greater transparency of potential exposure. EDM’s look-through capabilities allow users to drill down on fund hierarchies to the underlying assets. Robust data lineage functionality provides transparency into where data came from, who touched it and which rules were applied. EDM is integrated with our iLEVEL portfolio monitoring solution and is available as a managed service hosted on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud.
