Paul leads business advisory services product teams, advises on client engagements and report delivery, analyzes and forecasts freight transportation demand and infrastructure requirements, and drives business innovation. Paul primarily focuses on North American freight transportation markets, including the international trade of North America. Paul manages multimodal freight transportation market analysis and forecasting for public and private sector clients. Paul rejoined S&P Global Market Intelligence in 2019 after having worked at S&P Global Market Intelligence -predecessor firms Global Insight, Standard & Poor's Data Resources Incorporated (DRI), and Wharton Econometric Forecasting Associates (WEFA). He previously was Vice President for Freight and Logistics for the EDR Group unit of engineering firm EBP. Earlier he led the National Economics Practice of CDM Smith. He previously worked in the transportation consulting practices of Booz Allen Hamilton and ICF. Paul is an appointed member of the U.S. Federal Advisory Committee on Supply Chain Competitiveness.

He is former Chair of the U.S. National Academies of Sciences Transportation Research Board (TRB) Freight Systems Group and a member of the TRB Committee on Freight Transportation Economics and Regulation and the TRB Committee on Agriculture and Food Transportation. He is former Chair of the TRB Task Force on the Value of Transportation Infrastructure and former Chair of the Freight Transportation Data Committee. Sophie Malin is a senior economist with the pricing and purchasing service, responsible for analysis and forecasting relating to APAC labor markets.

In addition to forecasting and analyzing labor markets she also produces compensation reports and is a contributing author to the quarterly labor cost articles. Prior to joining S&P Global, Sophie worked as a consultant for an insurance technology provider, Intellect SEEC.

She received a BSc degree in Economics from the University of Swansea with a year abroad studying business, law and economics at the University of Alberta. Minimize

Marc Barrachin, CFA currently heads the Company Information Services (CIS) business within S&P Global Market Intelligence (MI), a division of S&P Global (NYSE: SPGI).  In this capacity, Mr. Barrachin oversees the growth and development of the CIS business.  CIS encompasses cross reference services, company financials and estimates, corporate structure, ownership, transactions, industry classification, filings, transcripts, private markets data, alternative and unstructured data, enabling customers to make decisions about lending, investing, acquiring or doing business with other companies and funds.

Marc has been with S&P Global Market Intelligence for almost 6 years where he previously led New Product Development. In this capacity, he expanded the division’s coverage and insights in private company data by a factor of 10. Marc also led the revenue synergies effort during S&P Global’s historic merger with IHS Markit, which was announced in 2020 and closed in March 2022.

Prior to joining S&P Global, Marc was Managing Director at IHS Markit. He managed the index business, and directed the growth of the credit business through the 2008 crisis and subsequent market restructuring and regulatory evolution. Marc also spent over 12 years at Interactive Data in a variety of roles.

Marc received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Northeastern University and Master of Science in Finance from Boston College. Minimize
