Anna leads healthcare function at S&P Global, where she is focused on facilitating data exchange among industry players and investors, with the ultimate goal of accelerating progress in healthcare. Prior to joining S&P Global, Anna worked at UnitedHealth Group, where she was responsible for digital innovation and M&A for several divisions, both domestically and internationally. Previously, she held positions at NYU Health, where her role was to bridge translational research and practice of medicine, and at Healthagen, Aetna’s incubator and investment fund. Anna holds an MBA degree from the University of Chicago and enjoys playing violin in her spare time. Minimize

Elizabeth Kim is a Vice President in the Firm’s Health Systems M&A Advisory practice.  Ms. Kim joined Cain Brothers in 2008 and has advised health systems, academic medical centers, physician groups, and ancillary healthcare providers on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and a variety of strategic advisory engagements. Ms. Kim’s notable transactions include affiliation of Children’s Hospital and Research Center Oakland with University of California San Francisco, sale of California Cancer Specialist Medical Group to City of Hope National Medical Center, merger of John C. Lincoln Health Network and Scottsdale Healthcare, and affiliation of Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation with Northwestern Memorial HealthCare.

Prior to joining Cain Brothers, Elizabeth co-founded Ascend Worldwide LLC, a boutique consulting firm. Prior to Ascend, she worked as an Associate at Economic Analysis and as a Mortgage Trader at First Security Corporation.

Marc Sluijs is focused on scaling the digital health sector through his involvement in growth investment, M&A, and large industry partnerships. He has been advising on digital health strategy and investment through his company Digitalhealth.Network since early 2015, and has been active in digital health since 2010. Marc’s passionate about fostering the global digital health ecosystem, with a particular focus on bringing together investors and entrepreneurs as well as innovators from the Life Sciences industry, with the aim of accelerating scale and adoption of digital health solutions. Since 2015, Marc has been advising leading investors such as Merck Global Health Innovation Fund, EQT and Mubadala on digital health investment and acquisitions. In addition, Marc acts as advisor on digital health strategy and partnerships to Life Sciences and Insurance companies, and helps selected digital health growth stage companies connect with investors and strategic and financial acquirers.

Marc has 20+ years of prior experience working with the Life Sciences and Technology industry, in health information (IQVIA/IMS Health), Life Sciences management consulting (Accenture), and biotech (Merck-Serono). Julian Harris, M.D., is a Partner on the Healthcare Services team at Deerfield and joined the Firm in 2019. Dr. Harris provides extensive research and analysis on individual companies operating in the healthcare industry. He also works with a variety of health care services and technology companies that are both current and potential investment partners. Before Deerfield, Dr. Harris was the founding President of CareAllies, Cigna’s family of multi-payer provider services and home-based care businesses. Previously, he led US Strategic Operations for Cigna and managed a $500M internal investment portfolio focused on technology and innovation. Dr. Harris was also an Adviser to Google Ventures (GV) focused on health care services. Before GV, he led the health care team in the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB). As the federal government’s chief health care finance official, he oversaw a $1 trillion budget and provided management and policy oversight for a range of programs, including Medicare, Medicaid, FDA, NIH and CDC. He also served as the chief executive of the $11 billion Massachusetts Medicaid program. Dr. Harris trained in internal medicine and primary care at Harvard Medical School’s Brigham & Women’s Hospital and practiced as a hospitalist at Cambridge Health Alliance and as a clinical consultant for BestDoctors. He graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Health Policy & Medical Ethics from Duke University and holds an M.Sc. from Oxford University, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar. He is also a graduate of the Wharton School of Business and the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Medicine, where he currently serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor.
