For years, academics and business leaders have discussed a gender pay gap in the labor market that favors men over women. New research challenges previous assertions. In this webinar, our experts discuss controversial insights into gender biases in executive compensation.
Daniel Sandberg from S&P Global’s Quantamental Research team shows women are compensated in a tighter range around the middle, compared to men in equivalent positions. This practice of Gender-Based Compensation Management (GBCM) artificially addresses the gender pay gap by increasing the median woman’s compensation, but offsetting that pay increase and paying less to women as a group. Effectively, women have been given a glass floor as reparations for the glass ceiling.
Drs. Vishal Gupta and Sandra Mortal from the University of Alabama join the discussion and share insights into how women fare after they reach top executive positions in corporate America. Dr. Janice F. Madden from the University of Pennsylvania will also join our speakers for a panel discussion on gender equality and the gender pay gap.
