Dr. Alain Biem is the Chief Data Scientist at S&P Global Market Intelligence in charge of the strategy and delivery of data-driven and machine-learning-based solutions and innovations for SPGMI products and services.
Prior to joining S&P Global, Alain was Director of Data Science at Wayfair overseeing the techniques and engines for personalization and recommendations for the Wayfair ecommerce storefront. AsVPofAnalytics atOpera Solutions,a data science consulting company,Alain leading a team of data scientists and engineers in delivering data science solutions for customersinRetail, Banking, and Entertainment.
At IBM Research, Alain was a senior data scientist and project lead in cognitive AI, machine learning, and business modeling, acting as the chief architect of analytics on IBM Big Data Products, and the technicallead invariouscustomers engagements.Alain has received numerous awards for his contribution toIBM products including IBM Watson Analytics, IBM Busines Component Modeling, and IBM Infosphere Streams big data platform.
Alain started his early career as a junior scientist and postdoc at ATR (Advanced Telecom Research), an NTT-affiliated research center in Kyoto, Japan, contributing to early advances in the field of conversational AI and deep learning, techniques used in products like Siri, Amazon echo, or Google home. He has published numerous papers and books chapters in machine learning and hold several patents. He is actively involved in academia as a Doctoral Thesis advisor and adjunct professor.

Warren Breakstone is Managing Director and Chief Product Officer, Data Management Solutions for S&P Global Market Intelligence. In this role, he is responsible for the profitable growth, product innovation and content delivered through XpressfeedTM and other digital distribution platforms. Separately, Warren oversees the CUSIP Global Services and Trucost business units. He also leads the S&P Global Marketplace initiative which launched in early 2020 as an integrated platform for data discovery and exploration. Warren is a member of the division's executive team.
With over 25 years in the banking and financial information services industry, Warren has held senior leadership positions across a variety of global businesses including Thomson Reuters, Primark and the Chase Manhattan Bank. He joined S&P Global in May 2015.
