This is the first webinar in the "2020 Energy Outlook and Managing Pandemic-Related Risk: What CROs Need to Know" webinar serieshosted by S&P Global Market Intelligence, the Committee of Chief Risk Officers (CCRO) and the Alliance Risk Group.
In this webinar, S&P Global Ratings will discuss the impact of COVID-19 and the 2020 oil price shock on credit ratings during H1 2020. Thomas A. Watters is a Managing Director in Corporate Ratings. Tom’s current role is Sector Specialist for the Oil & Gas and Chemicals Industries, serving as analytic leader and industry spokesperson. Prior to his current role, Tom served as Analytic Manager for the Oil & Gas team, a role he held for seven years since September 2007. Before this, Tom served for five years as the Team Leader for the Metals & Mining, Paper & Forestry and Building Materials industries. Tom joined S&P Global Ratings in November of 1997 as an Associate Director in the Metals & Mining team providing analytic coverage on a variety of companies. Prior to joining S&P Global Ratings, Tom worked for the National Association of Insurance Commissioners as a Senior Security Analyst from 1994-1997 following the oil & gas, paper & forestry, and metals & mining industries. Tom also worked for Chemical Bank for five years as a middle-market Account Officer lending to various industries. As Executive Director of the CCRO, Bob is the Committee’s principal spokesperson, lead strategist and chief administrator. He represents the Committee before the FERC, CFTC, Congress, and major industry conferences. The Committee of Chief Risk Officers is a corporation of member companies from across the energy industry from upstream to retail. The CCRO is dedicated to the development and advancement of a broad range of best practices in the fields of risk and compliance.
Prior to becoming the lead at the CCRO, Bob was the Chief Risk Officer for the El Paso Corporation, a consultant with McKinsey & Company, and lead of the energy derivatives trading & marketing group at BP Oil Company.
In his role as CCRO lead, Bob has developed relationships with many risk professionals from across the industry, providing constructive opportunities for all to grow in expertise and career.
As CEO for a start-up firm, Bob successfully developed funding sources and proprietary processes for an innovative approach to energy market transparency.
Bob has received much public acknowledgement for his involvement in the risk management field, including the “Famous Fifty” hall of fame award and years of industry speaking engagements.
Mr. Anderson has developed strong relationships with commissioners and senior staff at regulatory groups including the CFTC and FERC. Mr. Anderson also provides expert witness services for corporate litigation in the areas of risk management, corporate governance, and business development.
