Dhont has a special interest in extractive industries, social conflict, and organized crime in Latin America and has extensively written and briefed clients on how these issues affect current and potential investors in the region. Dhont holds a Master of Arts degree in War, Violence, and Security from the University of Sussex and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics and Economics from the University of Manchester. He was previously been employed by UK-based risk analysis firm Maplecroft. Prior to that position, Dhont lived and worked in Bogotá, Colombia, where he was employed by security think tank the International Crisis Group. Dhont is Fluent in English, French, and Spanish.
